This old dead dude named Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is reported to have said the following:

“"Es ist nicts schrecklicher als eine tätige Unwissenheit."
("There is nothing more horrible than ignorance in action.")

I'm writing a book. Maybe two. In one of them I will be using a Goethe's quote that says:

"Geschichte schreiben is eine Art, sich das Vergangene vom halse zu schaffen."
("To write history is a way of getting the past off one's back.")
