INTRODUCTION
There are several schools of theology concerning God's knowledge of the future. Calvinism claims that God's knows the entire future exhaustively. Open Theism claims that God only knows (a) what exists -- which does not include the future -- and (b) what He has decided will happen in the future. Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, in a debate on the internet discussion forum called Theology Online, two Bible scholars began to debate this topic. This running critique will be updated as the debate progresses, with links provided above (and below). The debate forum is called Battle Royale X. The question posed in this debate is:
Does God Know Your Entire Future?

Answering in the affirmative is Samuel Lamerson Ph.D., Associate Professor of New Testament and Practical Theology and Dean of Students at Knox Seminary. Answering in the negative is Bob Enyart, radio talk show host of Bob Enyart Live and pastor of Denver Bible Church in Arvada, Colorado. He is also the author of a popular albeit unpublished manuscript of Christian theology titled The Plot. Further biographical information about the participants is available at Theology Online.

The debate itself, as well as the rules and terms of the debate, can be read here:

Discussion about the debate (in which I will not be participating) can be read here:
